The predecessor of the Sinosteel Trading Company is the China Metallurgical Import & Export Corporation (CMIEC)，which was founded in January 1980. A state-owned large-size foreign trade company，CMIEC was a result of the renovation of China's old foreign trade system under the guidance of reform and open-up policies. CMIEC was renamed as Sinosteel Trading Company on November 17, 2004 and is a wholly-funded subsidiary of the Sinosteel Corporation. |
